DR. GOSAR d.o.o. is a Slovenian development company, with a brand established in 2015, specializing in the research, cultivation, processing, analytics and development of products from industrial hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) and other medicinal plants for companies, beekeepers and end users. The company combines scientific research knowledge, own cultivation, own laboratory, own development and own production, enabling complete quality control from plant to finished product.

A special feature of the company is that we carry out most of the key processes ourselves – from plant cultivation, formulation development, extraction, laboratory analyses and quality control to the development of finished products. This approach ensures traceability, high quality and the possibility of rapid development of new solutions. We also cooperate with other companies in the development of new products, optimization of production processes and laboratory analyses of plant extracts.
Research knowledge
The company's development work is based on more than twenty years of research experience of the founder, dr. Borut Gosar, in the fields of medicinal plants, biotechnology and analytical chemistry. Dr. Borut Gosar is a veterinary technician by secondary education. From 2005 to 2010, he was employed as a junior researcher at the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana, where he worked on research into medicinal plants, analytics of medicinal active substances and in vitro immunological tests. In 2010, he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation entitled: »Vpliv tehnoloških dejavnikov na kakovost ter možnosti pridelave škrlatnega ameriškega slamnika (Echinacea purpurea L.)«

The connection with the Biotechnical Faculty in the field of industrial hemp is particularly important. The Biotechnical Faculty has also selected DR. GOSAR d.o.o. as one of the locations for professional field trips for students, where we present research work, laboratory procedures, industrial hemp processing and product development.
