Recipe for preparing spruce & pine tips with honey

From late April to mid-May, harvest spruce tips (Picea abies L.) or, at the end of June, dwarf mountain pine tips (Pinus mugo L.), which grows in the mountains at altitudes of 1200–2000 m. It is best to harvest the tips on a clear day, as they contain the highest amount of essential oils and resins at that time. Dwarf mountain pine tips contain more essential oils than spruce tips.

Grind the harvested tips and submerge them in at least 50% alcohol within 24 hours. Add enough alcohol to keep the tips completely submerged. After a few weeks, the alcohol will extract the active ingredients (essential oils, resins, etc.) from the tips. Then, strain the contents of the barrel and mix the liquid part with honey in a ratio of (honey:solution=1:2). The mixture is now ready for the vacuum distillation process. During this process, excess alcohol and water are removed from the mixture under vacuum at a temperature of 40 °C. The vacuum evaporation process can be carried out at our company. We also purchase dwarf mountain pine (mountain pine) tips. Beekeepers have priority for purchasing.
