Recipe for the preparation of spruce & pine shoots with honey
From late April to mid-May, harvest spruce shoots (Picea abies L.) or in June harvest dwarf pine shoots (Pinus mugo L.), which grow in the mountains at altitudes of 1200-2000 m. It is best to harvest the shoots on a clear day, as they then contain the highest amount of essential oils and resins. Dwarf pine shoots contain more essential oils than spruce shoots. Grind the harvested shoots and cover them with 60-80% alcohol within 24 hours. Add enough alcohol to completely submerge the shoots. After a few days, the alcohol will extract the active ingredients (essential oils, resins, etc.) from the shoots. Then strain the contents of the barrel and mix the liquid part with honey in a ratio of (honey:solution=1:2). The mixture is now ready for the vacuum distillation process. In this process, excess alcohol and water are removed from the mixture under vacuum at a temperature of 40 °C. The vacuum evaporation process can be performed at the company DR. GOSAR d.o.o. .
The company DR. GOSAR d.o.o. also purchases pine shoots.
